Dr. Janet is a native of Puerto Rico and received her B.S. (1982) and D.V.M. (1984) degrees with honors from Kansas State University. She also received a Masters in Pathology from the same institution in 1984 upon completion of a dual degree curriculum. After graduation she worked at KSU College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital until relocating to Raleigh, NC. in December 1984.
While in Raleigh, she worked at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine before becoming a full time associate at Six Forks Animal Hospital. In August 1988 she and her family relocated to Greensboro where she worked as an associate at a small animal practice while the hospital was under construction. Adams Farm Animal Hospital P.A. opened on November 6, 1989. She has truly enjoyed being part of Adams Farm Animal Hospital since it's inception twenty years ago and deeply appreciates the opportunity to help the patients and their families. It has been her pleasure to get to know so many wonderful people and the ability to become part of their veterinary health care team for so many years. At times she feels "experienced" when she starts treating second and third generation families of pet lovers...She looks forward to come to the hospital everyday and continues to strive to help all the "her babies" in need of veterinary care. She is very proud of our hospital team and our facilities!
Dr. Janet is a member of several veterinary organizations and is currently an officer of the Guilford County Veterinary Medical Association and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and has a special interest in dermatology, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Janet and her husband Charlie have two children: Jana and Evan. Their home is completed by four furry children: McKenzie (a mixed breed dog), Lola (a Jack Russell terrier), Lara (a geriatric three-legged DSH) and Crackers (who came to "stay with us for a weekend" when rescued as an orphaned kitten by Jana and never left). In her little "free-time" she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching Tar Heels basketball and traveling.
Dr. Jack began working as the Associate Veterinarian at Adams Farm Animal Hospital in 2007. She received her B.A. with honors in 1982 from Manhattanville College (NY) and her Doctorate from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Jack's first best friend was a beagle puppy she met more than 30 years ago. Since then her pet "family" has included many dogs, cats, fish, birds, horses, snakes, turtles, frogs and guinea pigs. She currently lives with two rescued dogs and one very spoiled (formerly feral) cat.
Veterinary medicine is Dr. Jack's second career. She spent many years traveling, performing and teaching as a professional musician and award-winning songwriter (ASCAP). In 1998, being satisfied with one successful career, she decided to pursue her passion for animals full-time. She moved to North Carolina in 2002 and loves the people, the climate, and the short drive to the ocean. On weekends she is one of the worship leaders at Westminster Presbyterian Church (Greensboro). She is a member of several veterinary organizations as well as the World Wildlife Fund.
