Pain Management

We are dedicated to keeping pets as pain-free as possible before, during and after surgery. Pain management is always a concern with any procedure or treatment. We provide pain medication before, during and after surgery to ensure your pet’s comfort. We also make sure that adequate pain medication is sent home following any surgical procedure.

Whether it is a routine surgery such as a spay or neuter or more advanced surgery such as bladder stone removal or fracture repair, you can have peace of mind knowing that your pet is in compassionate hands at Adams Farm Animal Hospital.

Anesthesia and Patient Monitoring

We use the safest anesthetic options available and we provide the same level of patient monitoring that is used in human medicine. We monitor all of your pet’s vital signs with state of the art equipment as well as manual techniques. We will always make sure that your pet recovers from surgery in a warm and comfortable way while being cared for by a trained professional. Also, all patients are required to undergo pre-anesthetic blood testing as recommended by the attending veterinarian.

Radiosurgery - "A pain-less surgical option"

In an effort to reduce post operative pain and promote tissue healing with surgery, the doctors at Adams Farm Animal Hospital use the Ellman Surgitron Radiosurgery Unit. This advanced technology uses radiowaves through a handheld unit that is used in place of a scalpel blade and is similar to a laser. It provides exceptional surgical control, precision and safety. Because it is an atraumatic way of performing surgery it reduces discomfort, minimizes scar tissue formation and blood loss, and has excellent cosmetic results.

Some of the surgical procedures we can perform using the Radiosurgery Unit include:

The doctors and team at Adams Farm Animal Hospital feel that our surgical procedures, pain management techniques and after care are the best available in veterinary medicine. We strive to provide the most advanced and compassionate care. Your pet’s safety is our utmost concern.
